Parkour for Older People
Sunday 22nd March 5~6pm

This free session will introduce the fundamentals of parkour training, with a specific focus on training adapted to your needs and interests as older people.

Parkour is often mischaracterised as a discipline for young people, or even for  adrenaline junkies. In reality, parkour is for everybody, and has special relevance to the lives of older people. We focus our training on longevity and on functional movement. Learn to improve your balance, confidence in your movement and fall management, while making some new friends of all ages!

The class will be led by female coaches, and there will be a warm-up together,  an introduction to some of the fundamentals of parkour training, some games  and a wee conditioning session. It's a great workout, and a fun challenge.

This class is open to older women and enbies of all levels of fitness, confidence and everyone! Especially if it's your first time!! This is the perfect  opportunity to give parkour a try, in a supportive environment. Please register for this event here :)

  • @kelglaister

Kel has been coaching parkour since 2014, mostly in Scotland (her favourite place in the universe) and in Melbourne since she returned in 2016.

Kel believes passionately that parkour and movement is for every body. She has worked for years to help dismantle the gender bias in parkour, with groups like Glasgow Parkour Girls and Women of Melbourne Parkour. She has a particular interest in helping to provide access and support to those who have been marginalised by mainstream sports cultures; the weird kids who maybe switched off from movement and playing because PE class wasn't set up for them.
