Parkour For Mums
& Parents
Saturday 21st March 12:30~1:30pm

This session will introduce the fundamentals of parkour training, with a specific focus on training adapted to your needs as parents: either training with a pram nearby, training with small children, or we'll also provide a parallel childcare  session if you'd prefer to train by yourself.

Training parkour, with or without your children, can be an excellent way for mums and parents to include movement and exercises in their lives,as you don’t need to buy any gear or find time for regular classes and scheduled training sessions in your busy life. It’s also a great way to pick up key movement skills to help you play with, and support the play of, you children as  they grow up.

This session will include some tips and tricks on ensuring your kids are moving safely, while supporting their confidence and minimsing unfounded fears. Learn to run, jump, roll, climb and vault, while making some new friends! This class is open to mothers and parents all levels of fitness, confidence and everyone! Especially if it's your first time!! This is the perfect opportunity to give parkour a try, in a supportive environment. Please register here :)

  • @kelglaister

Kel has been coaching parkour since 2014, mostly in Scotland (her favourite place in the universe) and in Melbourne since she returned in 2016.

Kel believes passionately that parkour and movement is for every body. She has worked for years to help dismantle the gender bias in parkour, with groups like Glasgow Parkour Girls and Women of Melbourne Parkour. She has a particular interest in helping to provide access and support to those who have been marginalised by mainstream sports cultures; the weird kids who maybe switched off from movement and playing because PE class wasn't set up for them.
